Can I receive the California LifeLine Phone Credit on more than one phone number or account?


Based on Federal and California regulations, the California LifeLine Phone Credit is only available for one phone line per household. The only exception is for Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program participants, where a second line is allowed under the program.

A household includes adults and children who are living together at the same address as one economic unit. An economic unit consists of all adults (persons at least 18 years old unless emancipated) contributing to and sharing the household's income and expenses. Applicants will have to prove their eligibility for credit on their TTY line through the California LifeLine Administrator.

Note: At this time, Time Warner Cable offers the Lifeline Phone Credit program in California and New York only.
