TV FAQs

Why did my screen size change all of a sudden?

If you have a standard definition TV and an HD Set-Top Box, the aspect ratio (the width and height of the picture displayed on your TV) may change when Auto HD is enabled.

To set it so that the aspect ratio is fixed, turn off Auto HD:

  1. Press SETTINGS on your remote.
  2. Use the left/right arrows to navigate to "High Definition".
  3. Use the up/down arrows to navigate to "Auto HD".
  4. Press SELECT on your remote to turn Auto HD off (or on).

If you have a high-definition TV (HDTV) and an HD Set-Top Box and you want to set the aspect ratio to a fixed setting:

  1. Press SETTINGS on your remote.
  2. Use the left/right arrows to navigate to "High Definition".
  3. Use the up/down arrows to navigate to "Output Resolution".
  4. Use the up/down arrows to make your selection (options include 720p, 1080i, etc.).
  5. Press the C button on your remote to save your changes.
