What should I do if my DVR is not working?


Try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify your connections:
  • Check that all connections are securely plugged in.
  • Check that you're using the proper connectors in the correct places. For instance, the cable coming from wall should be connected to the "IN" jack on the cable box.
  1. Check you TV:
  • Verify the proper input is selected (Channel 3, Input 1, Input 2, HDMI, etc.).
  1. Check your cable box:
  • Verify it is powered on.
  1. Check the disk space:
  • If you are unable to record programming, it may be due to the availability of memory on your DVR. The Interactive Guide will alert you if a show fails to record because of a lack of available storage. If the indicator (located below the video preview window when in the recorded show list view) indicates greater than 90% full and you have many recordings set as “do not record”, you will need to manually delete recordings in order to avoid future recording failures.
