Overview

Program your remote to control your TV using the instructions below. There are two common ways to program your remote to work with your TV and Spectrum receiver.

Auto-Search Method (recommended)

Program your remote by displaying the code that works with your TV. This option scans through all of the codes in the remote control, one at a time, allowing you to identify the correct code.

Quick Set-Up Method

Program your remote by using a one-digit code associated with popular brands.

Manual Method

Program your remote by looking up and then entering a code that corresponds with your TV brand.

Auto-Search Method (recommended)

The Auto-Search Method scans through all of the codes in the remote control, one at a time, allowing you to identify the correct code. Follow these steps:

  1. Make sure the Spectrum receiver and TV are connected and powered on.
  2. Point the remote at the TV.
  3. Press and hold the PROG button for 5 seconds, until the red Power button lights up.
  4. Release the PROG button and make sure the red Power button light stays on.

  6. When your TV turns off, immediately press the TV button. This will store the code and exit the search mode.
  7. If you are able to control TV power on/off and TV volume with the TV and VOL buttons on the remote, you have successfully programmed your remote to your TV. If your remote is still not programmed, you may need to repeat steps 2 through 6 and press the TV button faster.
