Overview

Program your remote to control your TV using the instructions below. There are two common ways to program your remote to work with your TV and audio device.

Quick Set-Up Method

Program your remote by using a one-digit code associated with popular brands.

Manual Method

Program your remote by looking up and then entering a code that corresponds with your TV brand.

Quick Set-Up Method

The Quick Set-Up Method enables programming your remote by using a one-digit code associated with popular brands.

First, find your TV brand and its corresponding one-digit code, then follow the steps below.

Follow these steps:
  1. Ensure that your TV is powered on.
  2. Simultaneously press and hold the MENU and OK keys on the remote until the INPUT key blinks twice.
  3. Press and release the TV POWER key once.
  4. Find your TV brand in the chart above and note the digit that relates to your TV brand. Press and hold down the digit key.
  5. Release the digit key when the TV turns off. Setup is complete.

Note: While holding the digit key, the remote will test for the working IR code, causing the INPUT key to flash each time it tests a new code.

If your remote does not control your component after following the steps above, try the Manual method.

Manual Method

You can set up the remote by entering a code that corresponds with your device’s brand. Using the filters below, select a device and a corresponding brand to see applicable codes.

If your brand is not listed, please open the PDF version of the manual to find your code then follow the instructions below.

Find your device codes using the dropdown options above, then follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that your TV and/or audio device is powered on.
  2. Simultaneously press and hold MENU and OK keys on remote until the INPUT key blinks twice.
  3. Enter the 1st code listed for your brand. The INPUT key will blink twice to confirm once complete.
  4. Test your TV and/or audio device’s volume and power functions. If the device responds as expected, setup is complete. If not, repeat this process using the next code listed for your brand.

If your remote does not control your component after following the steps above, try the Quick Set-Up method.

 

Commonly Used Buttons

Understanding the buttons on your remote is essential to unlocking its full potential.
TV Power button
 
TV POWER turns your TV on or off.
Input button
 
INPUT changes your TV’s video input source.
All Power button
 
ALL POWER turns both your TV and Spectrum Receiver on or off.
Search button
 
Press the SEARCH button to find TV, movies and other content.
DVR button
 
Press the DVR button to view a list of recorded programs you have stored on your Spectrum Receiver.
Last button
 
LAST allows you to jump to the previously selected channel.
Guide button
 
Press GUIDE to display the program guide on your TV screen.
Info button
 
INFO displays information about the program you’re watching or a selected program in the Guide.
Back button
 
Press BACK to jump to the previous menu screen.
Exit button
 
EXIT the program guide and go back to live programming. EXIT also clears on-screen displays.
Options button
 
OPTIONS displays a list of special settings.
Menu button
 
MENU opens your Spectrum Receiver’s menu, allowing you to access Search, On Demand and Guide information.
Record button
 
Press REC to record the currently selected content.

Buttons may vary by remote brand and model.
 

Batteries

If your remote begins to malfunction, your batteries might need to be replaced.

Installing/Replacing
  1. Apply pressure with your thumb and slide the battery door for removal.
  2. Insert 2 AA batteries. Match the + and − marks on the batteries with the illustration inside the battery cover.
  3. Slide the battery door back into place.

Troubleshoot Your Remote

If your remote is not working, please try the following:

  1. Replace the batteries.
  2. Check that there are no obstructions between the sensor on the Set-Top Box and the transmitter on the remote. There must be a clear line of sight between the two.
  3. Check for an error message on the Set-Top Box. If the error message is number 1103 or 232, contact us with the displayed number. If the error message is any other number, try rebooting your Set-Top Box.
  4. Reprogram the remote to your device(s).

Replace Your Remote

If you have tried replacing your batteries and you are still having issues with your remote, it may be time to trade it in. Bring your old remote with you to a local Spectrum Store and trade it for a newer model or contact us for a replacement.
